Job Duties
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is seeking a Nurse Specialist to work directly with the Addiction providers in the Outpatient Behavioral Clinic. Responsibilities of this position included serving as the lead nurse for the Addiction Program to organize and prioritize the needs of the providers, patients and other staff members; will provide clinical expertise in all areas of the Addiction Medicine Program and when needed assist with General Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry as wells the TMS and SPRAVATO Programs as time allows. The position utilizes the nursing process to facilitate the patient's care using time and resources efficiently and assumes accountability for reevaluating care and its effectiveness. Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary members consistent with roles and responsibilities. The Addiction Nurse works with the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager to ensure all staff are consistently and correctly capturing quality metrics per clinic leadership.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it's teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health.

Minimum Education/Experience
Graduation from state-accredited school of registered nursing and two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in the assigned specialty area. Must have a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Experience working within a Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Outpatient setting as well as knowledge and experience in Substance Abuse Medicine
