Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals as well as other medications to patients and performs the diagnostic study per physician orders. Essential Functions: Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures. Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation. Processes the images for radiologist review. Manages the workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments. Maintains the Nuclear Medicine employee schedule and coordinates with the other modality supervisors/lead technologists to ensure that there are no conflicts with staffing. Performs all duties of staff technologist, as required. Uses computer system in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care: (a) patient's full name (b) patient's medical record number (c) patient's date of birth (d) examinations performed. Works with the radiologists to set standards of quality in techniques, procedures, and patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Associates Degree Required.

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

BLS required

Licenses:

Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required

ARRT required

Computer:

Basic computer skills

Clerical:

General knowledge of clerical duties

SPECT experience, including cardiac procedures

Minimum Work Experience:

3-5 years experience as a Nuclear Med tech required.

2-4 years leadership experience highly preferred.
