Position Objective:

The Controls Engineer / Technician provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes. Supports the specification, engineering design, development, and field support of electrical control and automation systems and devices. Travels as needed to end user/customer sites.


Key Accountabilities:

* Leading product management and engineering personnel through concept, planning, configuration, development, and post-sale support of electrical control schemes and designs.

* Testing and troubleshooting various mechanical and electrical systems.

* Providing technical support and instruction to organization members, clients, and end users.

* Developing technical documentation in support of products and projects

* Monitoring system performance and functionality.

* Performs other duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

Position Requirements:

  1. Associate degree or higher in engineering or equivalent;
  2. 5-7 years of related experience;
  3. Ability to travel to end-user sites;
  4. Knowledge of algorithm design and programming logic;
  5. Knowledge in communication protocols like: ModBus TCP IP, ModBus RTU, BacNet, others;
  6. Experience working with automation, control, and monitoring systems and software;
  7. Ability to determine/design infrastructure (cabling) according to best practices;
  8. Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical systems and electrical equipment;
  9. Understanding of standard operating procedures, engineering documentation, and electrical diagrams;
  10. Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA) methodologies;
  11. Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  12. Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  13. Strong customer interface skills;
  14. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment;
  15. Knowledge in IIOT communication protocols is a plus (MQTT, LoRA, LoRAWAN, ZigBee, others).
