Job Description:

The Department of Statistical Sciences at Wake Forest University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin July 1, 2024. We welcome applications from all areas within Statistics, Biostatistics, and Data Science.

We seek faculty with a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, a desire to mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and a commitment to enhance the breadth, depth, and diversity of our statistics programs. We strive for inclusivity and seek applicants with demonstrated success or interest in working with diverse populations. The positions are open to candidates across all areas of statistics and applied probability. A Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related area is required. The teaching load is two courses per semester.

The department has twelve permanent faculty members, whose research interests include the areas of: actuarial science, applied probability, Bayesian methods, bioinformatics, biostatistics, causal inference, clinical trials, environmental statistics, foundations of statistics, functional data analysis, measurement error, missing data, networks, epidemiology, spatio-temporal models, and statistics education. Statistics programs within the department include both a B.A. and a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Applied Statistics, a B.S. in Mathematical Business, an M.S. in Statistics, and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science.
