POSITION SUMMARY:

Operate equipment to produce products that are in full compliance with required product specifications and any instructions appearing on the manufacturing order. Ensure uninterrupted production flow in finishing process.This position is for a 2nd Shift Machine Operator. Hours are from 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Operation of equipment with safety interlocks in place and functioning.
  • Provide feedback to the plating department or supervision regarding substandard coil stock so as to minimize scrap and production loss due to poor-quality feedstock.
  • Must pass all quality audits of quality procedures and quality paperwork including product identification tags and product bundle counts.
  • Consistently meet production rates while meeting all quality and safety standards.
  • Responsible for daily preventative maintenance duties for machines.
  • Responsible for machine changeover using SMED techniques to minimize changeover time.
  • Work with maintenance to reduce mechanical downtime.
  • Responsible for the reject rate and scrap minimization generated by their machine.
  • Align with and support all aspects of the nVent quality system.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities as requested.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or advised which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs.

YOU HAVE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing facility is required.
  • Must have prior forklift training OR be able to receive forklift training.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Working knowledge of high-speed machinery and measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Copper Thickness Gauge).
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. This position requires pulling, lifting, and pushing steel coil material.
  • Must communicate well with team members.
