Position Description
Site Safety and Health Officer with EM-385 1-1 section 1 Level 4 qualifications and DOD experience. Essential Functions - Provide thorough safety orientation for all project new hires
- Excellent communications skills and a passion for safety - Provide strong safety oversite and guidance - Guide subcontractors through the preparation of government safety requirements - Using the behavior based approach to provide safety oversight for various construction activities, including underground utilities, elevated work, confined spaces and other general construction activities - Conduct daily onsite safety inspections – RMS daily reporting - Correct and document safety deficiencies - Conduct Equipment Initial Inspections - Daily communication with project team - Provide accurate recordkeeping and AHA matrix
- Above average computer skills (MS Office) - Able to pass security background check to enter post Qualifications - 5 years of relevant SSHO experience with 5 years of DOD experience - Level 4 SSHO qualified - Degree or CHST a plus - 30 Hour OSHA in construction
- 24 hour fall protection - Knowledgeable of OSHA 1910, 1926 and USACE EM 385 1.1 - Must be competent in the following disciplines; Scaffolds Fall Protection Confined Spaces Ladders & Stairways Trenching & Excavations Skills/Competencies Able to perform the following activities: standing, walking, climbing (ladder, scaffolding, steps, etc.), driving, lifting and carrying, kneeling, crouching and sitting.
