Job Description

Job Summary
The accounts receivable associate is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization.

Essential Job Functions

* Applies customer payments.
* Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
* Processes credit card payments and credits
* Makes adjustments to accounts as needed.
* Prepares daily manual deposits, lockbox transactions, ACH/wire transactions.
* Creates new customer accounts in data base.
* Performs collection activities.
* Prepares customer invoices for mailing.
* Performs copying and filing.
* Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed standard procedures and safety regulations.
* Reports to work regularly and punctually as working schedule required.
* Serves as back-up to Credit Supervisor in absence.
* Performs related duties as assigned by supervision

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
* High School Diploma or GED
* Prior administration/accounting/finance experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Knowledge of raw materials, key manufacturing processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, spreadsheet/excel, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
* Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
* Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Able to work independently and with other teammates in the organization to achieve goal.
* Skilled in oral and written communication, judgment and decision making, organization and coordination.
* 1-2 years of related accounting experience required. SAP Experience Preferred.
* High level computer skills: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (able to manipulate documents using these software packages)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
