The Process Technician's primary task is assisting production, quality, and maintenance with specific duties relating to production and material issues.. Process Technicians primarily play three roles: support, diagnostics, and minor maintenance. However, the actual requirements and duties vary widely and include creative tasks such as aiding in product or tool design. Other duties may include maintaining assembly or manufacturing systems, assessing and controlling production quality, root cause analysis, and recommending process improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor process capabilities
  • Monitor and work with operators on adherence to proper processes
  • Help with training requirements
  • Work with Maintenance and Quality on issues with equipment and materials
  • Ensure proper documentation for each position
  • Aid in time studies for labor planning
  • Help develop proper manufacturing techniques by working with Product Reliability/ Group Techniques
  • Work with Trainers on Cross Training Matrix
  • Implement ECR/ECN Trainings
  • Materials Issues/rejections on lines
    Qualifications

    Education

    • 2 year Technical school or 4 year Degree

    Experience

    • 1-3 years of experience within a manufacturing setting
    • Lean/Sig Sigma and Lean Tools is a plus

    Skills

    • Good communications skills and teamwork are a necessity
    • Must possess strong analytical skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Act decisively and independently when circumstances warrant
    • Some level of physical fitness is also a requirement in areas that focus on large Glass or Window frames and/or otherwise demand/lifting
    • Hours can vary and are not consistent across the field; certain projects may require off-site work, and deadlines may demand longer workdays
    • MS Office applications required; experience with technical writing, computer-aided design/drafting
    • Problem solving skills must be demonstrated
