We are looking for a talented and passionate collegiate student to join our Barrios Corporate team for the Program. This internship opportunity will support tasking within our Corporate Finance and Accounting department. Each intern will present an out-brief at the end of the internship. This is a unique opportunity for a college student (Sophomore by credit or higher) to have an internship supporting Barrios Technology in Houston, Texas. Barrios currently supports multiple contracts at the NASA Johnson Space Center, along with work at AMES, KSC, and MSFC.

Specific tasking may include, but is not limited to projects in the following areas:

    Create training with Deltek CostPoint
  • Accounts Payable process: from receiving check request to make payment in system
  • Accounts Receivable process: billing concept for all types of contracts
  • Payroll: timekeeping, calculating payroll, and payroll tax payment
  • Defense Contract Audit Agency pools: concept difference between DCAA pools and regular accounting Cost of Goods Sold/expenses
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Students must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Business, Finance, or Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Sophomore credit equivalency (30-59 hours) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently.


  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Project or other leadership experience (in school, extracurricular, or internship), innovation or process improvement skills, ability to demonstrate technical understanding of complex situations and communicate to appropriate audience.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
