The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Network Planner, to support our Clinical Labs product line. This position would be responsible for planning and maintaining US consumables finished goods in order to ensure high levels of customer availability while optimizing inventory levels and finished goods scrap. The network supply planner will interact with manufacturing and external vendors, global regional planners, product assignment, and logistics teams to procure, supply, and develop inventory stocking strategies to maximize availability and minimize inventory investment. The individual will support S&OP related activities for current products as well as new product launches and product discontinuances.

This position can be located in Rochester, NY or Raritan, NJ, Pompano, FL.

The Responsibilities

  • Plan finished goods requirements using SAP and APO. This includes projecting inventory levels, calculating appropriate safety stock levels, and reporting deviations from projected inventory targets.

  • Monitoring levels and fulfilment of customer backorders, this includes both direct customer backorders and replenishment shipments to other regions.

  • Develop and execute plans to achieve finished goods scrap targets.

  • Interface with manufacturing and/or external vendors to develop and coordinate supply, place purchase orders and track incoming supply.

  • Interface with the warehouse and transportation teams as needed to support day to day operations.

  • Maintain timely reporting of inventory, backorder, and line item fill rate metrics.

  • Interact with planning management, procurement, engineering, suppliers, etc.

  • Identify and drive plans for improvement of supply chain metrics (i.e. inventory, scrap, availability, etc.)

  • Employ the use of quality and lean thinking tools to identify and drive improvement opportunities.

  • Leadership of key projects across multi functions.

The Individual

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A focused degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations is preferred.

  • A minimum of 3-5+ years of related experience in supply chain or a related field is required. Supply and inventory planning experience is preferred.

  • Computer literate and working knowledge of software such as Excel and ERP systems. Knowledge of Advance Planning System, MRP are great assets.

  • Excellent ability to work in team with multiple stakeholders, excellent (phone) communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Function as a team player to build good working relationships and provide back-up as required.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Ability to manage complex projects (demonstrate innovation, assertiveness and leadership).

  • 10% Required travel for this position.
