We're here because we want to build the future and transform patients' lives for the better.

At UCB, our people are our experiences and achievements, our passion and drive. That's why we're looking for talented individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences - not just the best and brightest, but those who care about making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Formulate best practices for the analysis and interpretation of data from CRISPR screens and other functional genomics assays
  • Perform diverse modeling tasks, typically with sequencing data or data matrices with sequencing counts as input
  • Contribute to data science-driven sequence-based design of gene therapy products
  • Work closely with bench biologists and other data scientists to formulate computational means of testing molecular biological hypotheses

You will contribute by:

  • Driving scientific thinking, excellence, and technology developments to maximize current and future impact on programs and projects
  • Helping to develop strategy for identification and validation of novel targets and for the development of novel functional genomics assays
  • Delivering on objectives through effective internal and external collaboration and with teams of diverse skill sets and based in diverse geographic locations
  • Communicating effectively within team and to external stakeholders about progress, issues, and impact

  • Established coursework in or multi-year experience in machine learning
  • Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics or mathematical or scientific field with evidence of strong computational experience
  • Demonstrated experience in sequence biology and high-throughput sequencing data
  • Demonstrated experience with git

Please ensure your resume demonstrates any of the following real life & hands-on experience:

  • Industry experience
  • Coursework in molecular or cellular biology or genetics
  • Machine learning modeling
  • Cloud computing, ideally Amazon Web Services
  • Docker or other containerization software, git or related version control software, Jupyter notebooks, R, software packages for machine learning and statistics
  • High-throughput sequencing data
  • Software development
