Lenovo is seeking a Sr. Counsel, Intellectual Property Litigation, reporting to the Executive Director, Global Litigation. The successful candidate will manage and drive intellectual property litigation cases from complaint to conclusion, collaborating with internal and outside counsel, specific subject matter experts, technology experts, business analysts, and company clients. 

Position Requirements:

·        J.D. Degree with strong academic credentials

·        Current bar membership in the US

·        A minimum of 8+ years of legal experience with 5+ years of law firm experience preferred

·        Significant IP litigation experience focused on high tech products including cell phones and computers

·        Experience managing and developing strategy for post-grant review proceedings

·        Experience leading and managing litigation tasks, discovery management/collection, and working effectively with other attorneys and paralegals

·        Pre-trial/disposition, mediation, and motion practice experience

·        Experience determining and managing case budgets, developing and evaluating settlement proposals, and predicting risk-adjusted costs of pursing litigation 

·        Strong communication and presentation skills are required to explain complex legal matters to business leaders in a manner that is readily understandable in order to ensure well-informed business decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Engineering degree preferred, but not required

·        Understanding or experience with international IP litigation and arbitration, particularly in Germany, India, China and the UK

·        Ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously

·        Demonstrated business acumen, strong analytical skills, and the ability to grasp important business issues and legal issues facing the company

·        Experience with panel counsel programs

·        Trial experience, first or second chair and/or motion practice

·        Experience advising on SEP licensing and litigation, including FRAND implications

·        The candidate should demonstrate an ability to thrive in a large, global environment while coordinating the efforts of an outside counsel network within limited budgets

The position is preferred to be located in Chicago, IL or Raleigh, NC, but remote in US on East Coast or Central time zones will be considered.
