Summary

The Recruiter is responsible for the hiring and collaborating with leadership to identify future staffing needs of Baker Power & Process. The Recruiter should be well versed in the research, development, and implementation of effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. In addition, the Recruiter must have the ability to shift between responsibilities including human resources, and talent/client-facing situations, screening, interviewing, and hiring practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Recruiter will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:

  • Facilitates all phases of the recruitment and onboarding process
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
  • Prepares job descriptions (utilizing BP&P standard templates) and post job ads
  • Posts internal & external position openings on job boards, classified ads, and follow-up with team member referrals
  • Screen resumes and applications; ensure candidate qualifications align with position requirements; and recommend qualified candidates
  • Schedules interviews; manage the interview process; coordinate travel arrangements; communicate with applicants regarding EEO data requests, interviews, pre-employment assessments; prepare offer letters; follow up communication to all candidates, etc.
  • Collaborates with department heads and hiring manager during the offer process; identify and recommend salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details
  • Tracks all applicants in appropriate software while completing reporting for management
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required. Associate and/or bachelor's degree in relevant field, Human Resources, Business Admin preferred

Certifications (preferred):

  • Business Training Institute's Certified Recruiting Specialist or the HR Certification Institute's Human Resource Management Professional

  • Strong customer focus with the ability to establish relationships quickly and effectively with hiring managers and candidates
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of hiring strategies, labor laws, and employment equity
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook) with A+ certification
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to comprehend, organize and execute work assignments with minimal oversight
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, hiring managers, supervisors, team members and candidates
  • Adept negotiating skills when discussing employment terms, with the ability to efficiently close hiring transactions
  • Results oriented work ethic with a competitive drive
  • Collaborative working style and ability to promote the spirit of teamwork
