Position Description

Cell Based Assay Group - KBI
The Cell Therapy unit of KBI Biopharma is a contract development and manufacturing organization based in The Woodlands, TX (north of Houston).  The Cell Based Assay (CBA) group will develop, qualify, validate and perform a variety of GMP bioassays to support characterization and potency assessment of cellular and protein therapeutics for our clients.  The CBA group will consist of a Senior Scientist and two bioassay associates who will report to the QC Director.  The group will perform assays requiring derivation and culture of cell lines and primary cells coupled with cellular and molecular biology techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, fluorometric and luminescent assays, reporter-gene based assays, and qRT-PCR.

Job Summary
This individual will conduct cell culture and bioassays in support of product characterization and potency assessment.  Requirements of the position include execution and documentation of experimental protocols, and assisting in the qualification and validation of methods.

Requirments
Associate:  Bachelor's degree in the Life Sciences (biology, immunology, medical technology) AND at least 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment or M.S. and 1 year.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
 
Senior Associate: requires degree as described and 5+ years of experience (or MS and 3+ years of experience).  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
