Intralox is currently seeking an Mechanical Test Engineer for our New Product Development Team to work out of our Grand Rapids office. This position is involved in the complete new product development process from problem definition to product release.

  • * Manage and ensure execution of all R&D testing for an internal business unit located across two geographical sites
  • * Work collaboratively with a multi-discipline team and internal/external stakeholders in development and execution of R&D testing
  • * Develop and approve procedures for executing industry standard and customized testing protocols as well as inspecting/maintaining/calibrating internal testing equipment
  • * Author, review, and ensure approval of test plans and test reports for all R&D testing
  • * Design custom test systems in 3D CAD and solicit to internal/external vendors for build
  • * Lead the verification, and validation of any internally development test equipment
  • * Ensure internal test equipment is calibrated and properly utilized by test technicians
  • * Evaluate testing needs on case-by-case basis and determine testing execution strategy (internal, external, custom test equipment development)
  • * Recommend test equipment purchases to management


  • * Bachelor and/or Master of Science degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering disciplines
  • * 5+ years engineering/testing experience
  • * Strong statistical analysis and DOE capability
  • * Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • * Practical and hands-on approach to problem solving
  • * Strong technical and analytical skills
  • * Proficient in self-organization and time management skills
  • * Enthusiastic about continuous learning and personal growth
  • * Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • * Must function well in a group structure
  • * Self-motivated and managed

Desired Qualifications

  • * Solid modelling experience in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software (Pro-E, Inventor, etc.)
  • * Experience with Minitab, JMP, Excel Statistical Analysis Add-in or similar analysis software
  • * Proficient in PLM / PDM utilization (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
