Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Department of Athletics is a vital part of student life and the educational process at Elizabeth City State University. It provides a well-rounded schedule of college athletic competition designed to encourage participation by the student body. The department encourages physical fitness and the development of physical skills and emotional control. |
Description of Work | The Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach will provide instruction to student-athletes to increase their knowledge and understanding of Cross Country. This position is a 10-month part-time at-will employment appointment. The Head Coach shall provide strategic direction, leadership, roster management, and motivation to perform competitively in the classroom and on the course. |
Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | The ideal candidate will have experience in Cross Country coaching, preferably at the collegiate level. Work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of Cross Country, and promotion of the Cross Country program. |
