Job Description

If you are looking for a senior business development role in a dynamic small business environment, LCG’s Growth Team is seeking a Business Development Manager with Federal Health IT experience. The ideal candidate will focus on developing and managing relationship between LCG and target client by establishing and cultivating key government contacts within civilian or defense agencies.   Ideal candidate should have knowledge of the governments  IT organizational structures, operating environments, and acquisition processes. The ideal candidate will have experience developing SWOT analyses, building win themes, and building a strategic and tactical plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers, clients, and teammates (Prime, Sub) to develop, establish, build, and maintain relationships
  • Cultivate existing relationships in place with large and small teaming partners
  • Maintain up-to-date market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices
  • Proactively identify, qualify, lead, and bring opportunities into Capture phase
  • Perform market research to qualify new business opportunities, including analysis of customer budgets, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses
  • Develop and maintain % defined target new business pipeline on a rolling 18-month basis
  • Create short, mid, and long-term opportunity pipeline
  • Work with Senior Leadership on developing, executing, and reporting status of call plans
  • Cooperate with program management, marketing, finance, contracts, legal, and executive management to maximize organizational involvement to develop winning bids
  • Track targets in corporate tracking system, following approved Business Acquisition Process to develop and present opportunities to senior management during gate reviews
  • Manage Strategic Account Plans for customers in BD Manager’s portfolio

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant direct BD/Account Manager experience with civilian or defense agencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or functional discipline or equivalent desired
  • A demonstrated/verifiable track record of proven success in identifying, qualifying, and developing opportunity
  • A proven track record of designing and implementing sound business development account plans and strategies
  • A mature and active network of contacts relevant to the Health IT markets, their clients, and the contractor industry that supports those clients
  • Solid interpersonal, oral presentation, negotiating, and influencing skills
