Benefit Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Education Requirements: Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree.

Position Summary: Site Quality Coordinator Intern assists in the effective implementation of the Quality Program at the project level. Site Quality Coordinator Interns act as an unbiased Quality representative independent of influences of production goals. Assist in promoting a team approach in assuring the Inspection and Testing Plan Contract Requirements, project drawings, plans and manufacture specifications are achieved.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with implementing the site-specific Quality Program.

  • Assists in tracking and monitoring inspection and testing activities and retrieves/tracks Quality metrics.

  • Assists in performing inspections and tests as defined within the Inspection and Testing Plan.

  • Applies Stop Work Authority on any operation or activity that appears to be out of compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan, Contract Requirements, and/or project drawings, plans, and manufacture specifications; and empowers all project resources to act in the same manner.

  • Assists in final walk down activities with Project Team and Owner/Developers.

  • Assists in tracking punchlist corrective actions and provides updates to the Project Team.

  • Assists in managing nonconformance of materials, products, or processes.

  • Follows defined instructions and/or assists in the development of Inspection and Testing Instructions.

  • Assists in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities such as Kaizen events if applicable.

  • Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

  • Maintains confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Reads and understands contract exhibits and engineering plans and specifications.

  • Ability to be analytical, organized, and have high level of attention to detail.

  • Builds strong and open relationships with the Project Team.

  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations.

  • Listen to understand and seek clarification prior to making decisions.

  • Gathers pertinent information skillfully to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to understand and utilize Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving Techniques.

  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality within the project; demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.

  • Mechanical/Electrical Knowledge - Possess a basic understanding of mechanical functions of equipment, of AC/DC principles, cable terminations, and inspection/testing equipment.

  • Teamwork - Focused on teamwork and finding solutions in a collaborative manner.

  • Possess computer skills (MS office).

  • Ability to relocate to the community of the construction project assigned.
