Job/Internship Description

Benefit Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Education Requirements: Junior year of college. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related degree.

Position Summary: Assist with the administration of daily operations of project site under supervision of Project Construction Coordinators, Field Construction Coordinators, Trade Superintendents, and Site Managers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractor's work.

  • Review subcontracts and monthly invoices.

  • Coordinate deliveries of supplies, materials, and tools.

  • Participate in field activities to gain exposure to craft positions.

  • Review and confirm work codes and hours worked are correct and submit timecards to payroll.

  • Assist in tracking production quantities and submitting the information to the corporate office.

  • Cooperate with Superintendents to ensure quality, schedule, and safety.

  • Assist with onsite DOT compliance.

  • Assist with preparing daily, weekly, and monthly meeting agendas (Plan of the Day, Monthly Managers Meetings).

  • Track equipment and create transactions as required.

  • Assist in completing PO's and Pay Applications.

Additional Job Functions

  • Apply for and complete local permits as specified by the contract.

  • Monitor borrow and waste agreements.

  • Analyze and interpret field information by frequently visiting the field to collect data and become familiar with acceptable cycle time rates.

  • Conduct final inventory and jobsite closeout activities.

  • Maintain computer equipment and be responsible for all office operations including timecards and purchase orders.

  • Assist in the assembly of Job Books for hand-off to the owner at project completion.

  • Assist with on-site safety activities including management of light duty program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skill in accounting (math and record-keeping).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Outlook, Visio).

  • Possess effective oral, presentational, and written communication skills.

  • Be independently motivated and have supervisory skills.

  • Organize and prioritize numerous tasks.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).

  • Able to relocate to the community of each construction project site assigned for the duration of the internship.
