In this position you would have the opportunity to work alongside our highly skilled and professional actuarial services team. Interns are typically placed in a pricing or financial reporting role working side by side with actuaries or senior level actuarial students. They are presented with challenging projects that provide them with useful experience while allowing them to develop their problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Assist the actuarial staff in extracting, compiling, reviewing, and analyzing data in support of the goals of the Actuarial Department

  • Develop familiarity with various actuarial functions, such as pricing, reserving, modeling, reinsurance, and business planning

  • Perform appropriate checks within processes to minimize errors and inaccuracies and verify data reconciliations

  • Ensure accuracy of work performance

  • Network with other members of the Department to establish mutual respect in business processes

  • Participate in weekly training sessions

  • Present final work to entire actuarial department

Education

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field

  • Course work or relevant experience with demonstrated achievements

  • At least one SOA or CAS exam.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.2

Job Related Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge in SAS or VBA is a plus

  • Proficient abilities related to mathematical reasoning, analyzing, and problem solving

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

  • Effective time management skills

  • Students going into their senior year or just recently graduated by the summer of 2021 are preferred
