Spaceflight is a giant step toward advancing our knowledge of the universe and ourselves.The Earth Observing System (EOS) Data and Operations System (EDOS) team is looking for an intern to join their team at Goddard Space Flight Center. This position would be 20 hours per week during school and 40 hours per week when off from school.NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) Data and Operations System (EDOS) captures high-rate science and engineering data from the EOS spacecraft and instruments, processes telemetry to generate and maintain a backup archive of Level 0 Science Data Products (raw satellite data) for the Terra, Aqua, and Aura missions.The intern will be provided an opportunity to:+ Receive training to be certified in console operations+ Become an expert with the EDOS data capture, of 8 spacecrafts, and data processing operations Center system(s).+ Perform real-time data capture details, operations proficiently, anomaly follow up with assigned S/C Mission Operations Center (MOC), communication with Ground Stations, and users.+ Assist in development of relevant operations procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Operations documentation update.Participate in software development / system testing, verification and validation of operations products, as needed.Perform routine data capture and processing analysis for one or more assigned Spacecraft(s), ground stations, and monthly/yearly reports.**Basic Qualifications:**Must be currently enrolled in a technical (engineering, computer science) undergraduate program at an accredited college or university.KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
