Intralox is currently seeking a Plastics Design Engineer to bring new innovations to our new product development team. The successful candidate will be able to take a concept to an injection molded part design, help select plastic materials, and work with the injection mold design team on mold design. Responsibilities:

New Product part design
  • Work with New Product Development teams to turn concepts and ideas into detailed injection molded parts
  • Integrate design feedback from engineering, manufacturing, and the mold design group
  • Opportunities to work directly with customers to define design needs
  • Integrate the new designs into Intralox PDM and PLM systems

Production Support
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis of product quality issues and equipment failures - Develop robust, repeatable solutions to prevent reoccurrences
  • Work with Intralox Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Engineering to continually improve our product

Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor and validate existing products and processes to develop and execute continuous improvement opportunities
  • Accountable for the identification of risks, technical options value propositions, and championing of solutions


Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, or Industrial Design
    • If not degreed, demonstrated part design experience
  • Proficiency in 3D cad modelling, plastic part design elements
  • Strong documentation and organization skills
  • Must possess ability to work with a team while directing technical resources
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and relationship management skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office software
  • Local resident or relocation to the greater New Orleans area
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks and/or Pro-Engineer Creo) preferred
  • Experience with mold fill simulation preferred
  • Basic understanding of injection molds, and the injection molding process preferred
