Description

We are looking for dynamic individuals seeking aninternship in the area of intramural sports.

Detailsand Benefits

  • 10-month positions from August through May(specific dates negotiable)
  • Internswill be compensated at a rate of $1,450 per month to offset their livingexpenses during this 10-month internship. Total compensation: $14,500.
  • Inaddition, this internship provides a University meal plan.

IntramuralSports Intern

The Intramural Sports Intern will report to both theDirector and Assistant Director of the Intramural and Recreational SportsDepartment. The intern will be responsible for helping with the day-to-dayintramural tasks as well as administrative front office duties. Hours will varybut mainly the intern will work Monday through Friday and some occasionalweekends.

JobResponsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluatestudent officials
  • Help improve program development
  • Assist with student staff training
  • Planning and scheduling events
  • Facility preparation
  • Promote and market intramural activitiesincluding print, digital and social media
  • Plan and lead captains' meetings and refereetraining sessions
  • Manage and assist with day-to-day intramuraloperations
  • Coordinate intramural special events
  • Provide customer service for office patronsincluding face-to-face, phone and email
  • Assist Director with administrative duties
  • Sell theme park tickets
  • Handle cash and other forms of currency
  • Help oversee student desk and office employees
  • Assist with making schedules
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

RequiredQualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree and or neededfor credit to finish degree
  • Knowledge of intramural policies and trends
  • Excellent oral and written communication sills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and photo andvideo editing software (ie Photoshop, iMovie, Canva)
  • Awareness of safety and risk managementconcerns
  • Providing positive and prompt customer service
