Job Description
Position Purpose
Within the multi-site commercial group provide technical expertise to take a lead role in project designs and resolve complex design challenges. Work closely with Project Managers and Designers to ensure the production of high-quality deliverables. Provide coaching and mentorship to Designers and CAD Techs and provide support and assistance to the multi-site Technical Manager and Division Manager.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities
  • Assist in leading the multi-site design staff, provide resource management, resolve both technical and design problems, coach, train, and mentor design and CAD professionals, and work collaboratively with all team members on all aspects of project execution
  • Manage and produce detailed civil engineering construction documents including civil utility and site design (water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, HGL modeling, fire flow design, grading, sediment and erosion control, and storm water management) and coordination with typical subconsultants (Geotech, architect, environmental)
  • Assist in review agency coordination for site permitting including submittals and response to review comments
  • Work in accordance with company standards from concept phase through construction administration for a variety of projects across the country
  • Scheduling of projects for permitting, internal resources, and viability of deliverables for clients
  • Assist Projects Managers, Technical Manager and Division Manager as needed to help achieve project success

Qualifications
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Engineering of similar field
  • PE required
  • 5+ years of experience in civil site design
  • Strong proficiency in design of water and sewer mains, mass grading, roadway horizontal and vertical design, erosion control, and storm drainage for commercial projects
  • Thorough background in civil design, governmental regulations, AutoCAD-CIVIL 3D, plan preparation, surveying principles and construction techniques
  • Experience working with client prototypes and standards preferred
Candidates should be prepared to provide work samples and/or take a CAD assessment.

Preferences
  • NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying) licensure preferred
  • Licensure in multiple states preferred
  • Experience with multi-site retail rollouts and high-volume design preferred
