Job Summary

Responsible for directing all grounds keeping activities relating to landscaping contracts at Ft. Bragg Grounds. Duties include supervision and management of employees, materials, and supplies as well as costing, scheduling and quality control of all work performed. Also, responsible for maintaining required production records, QC reports, and other reports as defined. Must ensure crews are adhering to all safety requirements, PPE requirements, and contract requirements at the site. Maintain open communication with contract representatives and corporate personnel.

These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Responsible for ensuring that employees comply and meet safety and contract performance expectations as defined by the agreed upon Performance Work Statement and POS procedures provided by ServiceSource.
  • Prepare, compile, and deliver reports from transaction and inventory analysis on equipment and stock items, i.e. cost, location and quantity changes, as required. This procedure will also include communicating issues and concerns to the PM and Maintenance Mechanic on all equipment.
  • Provide back-up for all key personnel on the contract as required to maintain contract performance expectations as highlighted in the PWS.
  • Interfaces with contract personnel on all routine matters pertinent to contractual obligations and may provide pricing for additional services/staff or modify contract for overtime funding and contract language.
  • Supervises personnel and provides directives during Project Managers' absence.
  • Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to solve issues that arise.
  • Assign employees to appropriate jobs and implement rehabilitation plans of assigned employees.
  • Write employees counseling reports as needed. Coordinates with Rehabilitation Counselor to solve behavior/attendance issues.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary Team process and other meetings pertaining to corporate goals and objectives. Provides input as needed.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral format.
  • Ensure that timely and accurate records and reports necessary for the operation of the Ft. Bragg Grounds contracts requirements are submitted.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager.
  • Participate in all other training required by ServiceSource.
  • Adhere to all fire and safety, bomb threat and security protocol regulations within assigned area.

Qualifications: Education, Experience and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years' experience leading and/or managing personnel in a landscape contract or company. One year should be in a supervisory capacity.
  • Apply for and obtain licenses for the following, and other areas as requested by the PM
    • North Carolina Landscape Contractor License
    • North Carolina Pesticide License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must Possess a valid NC driver's license.
  • Must be able to work with people internally and externally at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent oral/verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions, will be hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Hearing and eye protection is mandatory.
