Primary Duties
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the assigned work crew to accomplish the work, by using demonstration, verbal instructions and hands on training. Transport the work crew and equipment to and from the assigned work sites in a safe manner. Perform the grounds maintenance, landscaping and playground maintenance providing quality service. Ensure the maintained area is policed for trash and other debris, mow assigned areas to established height, edge and trim around all obstacles and planting beds, trim shrubs to established height, trim trees and remove limbs, etc. in accordance with the contract specifications. Responsible for the security of the assigned equipment to ensure it is not stolen, damaged or misplaced. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designated individual Participate in all other training required by funding source(s) and/or the Corporation such as Human Rights training.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certifications(s)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). The Foreman will have proven experience in the landscaping/grounds maintenance field. Supervisory experience and at least 3 years of grounds maintenance/landscaping experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
