We are looking for a Sr. Environmental Consultant with 10+ years of experience in water resources, stream, wetlands, riparian buffer, permitting processes, mitigation consulting, and environmental assessment review. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience/knowledge with the following:
- Responsible for managing and mentoring assigned staff, building a strong team and serving as a positive role model while exceeding client expectations
- Stream/wetland identification, delineation and restoration
- Consult and facilitate on behalf of private sector on mitigation programs available through the NCDMS program and private mitigation banks, including mitigation site potential/assessment
- Manage all aspects of any required wetland and water quality (USACE/DWQ/CAMA) permitting and mitigation needs
- Prepare environmental assessment documents under NEPA/SEPA requirements
- Proven ability to review and comment on pending federal and state legislation, as well as local ordinances for area home builder associations, economic groups, and local municipalities regarding stream, stream buffer, and wetland regulations
- Section 404/401 permitting
- Evaluation and permitting of riparian buffers
- Previous Environmental Consulting experience
- General knowledge of wetland soils, hydrology and vegetation
- General knowledge of stormwater rules
- Established relationships with regulators
- Preferred certifications (not required): NCSAM, NCWAM, SEPA, NEPA
- PWS certification a bonus
