Project Engineer, Water & Wastewater

Job Description
McAdams is looking for a new team member to serve as Project Engineer and Assistant Project Manager on projects involving water distribution and wastewater collection systems. In that capacity, perform hydraulic modeling, and water storage facility, water and wastewater pump station, force main, and gravity collection system design. Prepare necessary permitting documentation and facilitate approval through relevant agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Design water distribution systems including above ground and other water storage facilities and booster pump stations.
- Design wastewater collection systems including gravity systems and pump station and force main systems.
- Perform regional wastewater collection capacity studies to determine availability of remaining capacity of existing infrastructure.
- Develop civil engineering plans and specifications for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Provide technical support on water resource or treatment issues to government agencies.
- Perform various other Project Engineer responsibilities, including preparation of cost estimates, agency permits, revisions to existing drawings, specification development, and preparation of RFPs for bidding on projects to sub-contractors.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge (5+ years) of system hydraulics, including pumping stations, storage tanks, pressure control devices, etc. required.
- Knowledge and working ability in the use of WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, SewerCAD, and SewerGEMS water and wastewater hydraulic modeling computer programs as well as traditional design tools (e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D).
- Knowledge and working skill in the use of a personal computer including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent oral/written communication and public involvement skills necessary.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
