Job Description
We are seeking a Land Planner to join our Planning + Design Group with 3-5 years of planning experience.  McAdams is proud to be part of the most interesting, iconic and impactful projects in the region. Planning responsibilities include; preparation of planning documents, research, grant preparation, GIS analysis and mapping, preparation of graphics, support of public involvement initiatives and project administration duties. Under the leadership and instruction of our design leaders the candidate will gain technical and practical experience on a wide range of project types including, Parks & Rec Master Plans, Downtown Revitalization Plans, Greenway Master Plans and Feasibility Studies. The successful candidate will interface with project design teams and be exposed to all facets of a project. Our work environment is both creative and dynamic so the optimal candidate will be eager to engage and possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Candidates will be able to go as far as their skills, creativity and work ethic will take them.

Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelors or Master Degree in Planning or related field from an accredited program
  • 3-5 years of planning experience
  • AICP certification a plus
 Skill requirements:
 
  • Support senior planners and/or project managers in producing documents, reports, graphics, and materials for community outreach and planning documents
  • Compile data and conducts research in support of project delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Produce material for project meetings and workshops
  • Participate in on-site workshops in support role
  • Communicate effectively with project team and manager
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
  • GIS mapping and analysis
  • Grant experience a plus
  • Parks & Rec Master Plans, Downtown Revitalization Plans, Greenway Master Plans and Feasibility Studies experience a plus
