We are seeking a Project Land Planer / Landscape Architect to join our Planning + Design Group in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.  Our firm’s dedication to providing comprehensive design services has put a focus on Land Planning / Landscape Architecture which in turn has created this new opportunity.   Working in a collaborative team environment, this position will be a part of leading the team through all phases of project management.

Required skills and experience:

Experience:
5-10 years of working experience and a professional license required.

Education: 
Candidates must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from a four year accredited program.

Skills:
Provide planning and land development support services including preparation of conceptual site plans for neighborhoods, commercial centers, and urban redevelopment sites.  Also provide entitlement services including preparing plans for rezoning and through the entitlement phases of work.  Should be able to think at various scales in order to implement the broad brushed conceptual plans.  Experience with detailed site planning is also required.  Candidate should also have knowledge of site detailing, planting design, hardscape design, and streetscapes.  Should be able to develop site concept designs for projects within various sectors (residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, parks &recreation and urban design).  Assist with efforts in preparing design/construction documentation and services.  This position will be asked to lead projects as well as provide production support depending on the team created to deliver the client services.  This position will be on a fast track for career advancement.

Communication:
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) are required.  A ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to lead and follow as a team player are critical for success.  Ability to interface with both internal staff and external clients with diplomacy is essential.
