Technical Manager (Land Development - Civil Engineering)

Position Purpose
Use technical expertise to solve complex technical and design problems with our residential and commercial projects while closely working with Project Managers to make our clients visions a reality. Provide coaching and mentorship to Designers and CAD Techs across all McAdams office locations.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities
- Write and assemble organized design reports for presentation of design concepts
- Work in accordance with established company standards to efficiently design and produce complete and accurate plan sets
- Function as a liaison between the Production Team and Project Manager
- Direct, coach, and mentor engineering, design, and CAD tech professionals as necessary to provide sound technical advice, resolve complex technical design problems, and to achieve high levels of performance to external clients
- Four-year accredited college degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology
- Minimum six years of experience in civil site design, governmental regulations, and project/technical management
- Excellent communication skills that shine through team collaboration and all aspects of project execution, including proposal preparation
- Ability to inspire high levels of performance from the team as well as mentor and train designers and CAD techs
- Demonstrated leadership skills developing and managing team resources and clients
- A North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
