Wieland is hiring a Direct Casting Specialist. The Direct Casting Specialist will be responsible for supporting Casting operations by assembling, rebuilding, setting up, maintaining and operating equipment designed to create continuous casting tubes from molten metal as specified in SOP's. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $19.28/hr

Schedule:Dayshift 2-2-3 Schedule

Direct Casting Specialist Responsibilities:

* Performs all applicable SOP's, JSA's, and QAP's associated with assigned job title.
* Conducts safety audit of equipment at the beginning of each shift, records results of audit and submits results to Supervisor.
* Supporting the casting shop.
* Preparation of casting equipment, milling, rolling, and drawing parts of any kind of consumables; as well as help with change overs, changing parts or tools in production PM area.
* Handling and work of any kind of refractory including castables and ramming mixtures.
* Handling and operation of gas burners.
* Handling, charging, and melting of copper.
* Requires the ability to use any kind of tooling needed for the operation of machines.
* Requires ability to perform quality checks including:
visual checks, measurements with ID, OD, and wall micrometers, calculation of tube eccentricity out of performed wall checks.
* Operation of all kinds of machinery/tools including, but not limited to:
crane, forklift, and jack hammers.
* Duties may be extended to break reliefs in certain cases.
* Support activity includes e.g. production, tool changes, quality checks, change overs, production PM's, reline tasks, and keeping work area clean.
* Ability, not only to operate machinery, but able to add, change, save, or recall stored data in systems such as Agilisys, as well as Excel.

Direct Casting Specialist Qualifications:

* Must successfully pass application, interview and pre-hire screening process if not currently employed.
* Must successfully complete post hire training, if not currently employed.
* Ability to maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of responsibilities.

* Industrial maintenance background preferred.

* Ability to read, write, and do basic math is required.

* Must be able to communicate information effectively and accurately
