We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Associate in the Monroe Rotary Forge department at our Monroe, NC facility. As a manufacturing associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring our materials undergo the necessary thermal processing to meet quality standards. The Monroe Rotary Forge department is responsible for precisely heat-treating metal coils and bars to engineer-specified requirements.

As a manufacturing associate, you will be responsible for processing material by operating the following functions: charger crane, saw, straightener, and paint sprayer, maintaining quality control. A successful candidate for this role is a fast learner with mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination.

This is a night shift position from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am working on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule. You will work 2 days, have 2 days off, work 3 days; then 2 days off, work 2 days, then have 3 days off. Training will take place Monday through Friday, from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Moving materials in and out of furnaces and water quench tanks.
  • Cutting materials according to specifications.
  • Ensuring materials are straightened before proceeding to the cooling bed.
  • Banding materials into bundles and conducting accurate weight measurements.
  • Coating materials with protective paint to maintain quality during heating processes.
  • Scheduling and monitoring heat treatment processes in 10 furnaces, overseeing loading procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience with forklifts or heavy equipment
  • IME certification

Skills:

  • Basic math skills for calculations and conversions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure as well as other measuring devices
  • Time management skills
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
