Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Oversees the day-to-day production operations of the production floor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists in training new Associates in operation of department production methods and equipment utilizing PQS and SOPs.
  • Makes department adjustments as needed to allow for smooth production flow and transitions. Approves associates reassignments when necessary based on machine or departmental downtime.
  • Creates shift assignment sheet and notify supervisor of staffing problems.
  • Required to have production supplies set up before start of shift and complete paperwork at end of shift.
  • Oversees quality of product being produced in department and notifies supervisor of any sub-standard conditions. This will also include maintaining and reading of quality specification and set up sheet files and the ability to refer to them frequently.
  • Ensures department have the proper raw materials and/or tools to perform their assignments as well maintaining orderly staging area. Notifies supervisor of shortages.
  • Provides accurate production records.
  • Relays Production Manager/Supervisor directions to the production personnel.
  • Prints finish goods labels and BOM's.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • Cooperates with other departments to provide a smooth production flow.
  • Keeps an open communication with all Associates and Supervisors or Managers of functional department.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Performs duties of general help and job assignments as required
  • Will be required at times, with proper notice, to work mandatory overtime.
