The Process Manager (Bakery Shipping / CharlottePlant) is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of a process, engaging production team members in operation of a variety of machines in product manufacturing. This Position covers a 4 shift 24/7 Shipping operation in a large scale Manufacuring facility. Leadership coverage must be flexible based upon business needs.

Essential Job Duties:
* Analyzes production orders or schedules and plans the overall operations for assigned process area(s) and shift(s). Aligns production requirements and assigns duties to production team; establishes or adjusts work procedures. Ensures achievement of production goals.
* Monitors safe work practices. Interprets company safety policies, procedures and regulations; familiarizes team members. Trains and instructs on proper use of equipment as needed. Ensures a safe working environment.
* Monitors production line; performs audits. Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines. Ensures adherence to quality standards.
* Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems. Troubleshoots unusual or difficult issues requiring coordination and communication across cross-functional departments; follows through with quality and/or process improvement.
* Develops, coaches and/or mentors team. Conducts team meetings and familiarizes team with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Interprets and ensures consistent application of company policies.
* Provides technical guidance to production team. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Acts as trainer. Ensures timely and accurate implementation to changes.
* Prepares and records production and audit reports for process. Maintains time and production records.
* Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
* Schedules and approves overtime and time-off, records absentee records, takes disciplinary action as necessary, etc.
* Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
* Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities between shifts and departments.
* Upholds SQF Level 3 Quality Standards
* Fosters a continuous improvement culture to drive behaviors through programs such as 5S, Centerline and Standard Work.
* May perform activities of team members supervised.
* May perform other duties as required.


Scope of Responsibility:

Somewhat independent; work frequently done independently by following practices and procedures while occasionally having work checked. Directly manages 10 - 50 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Lance policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years' experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements

  • 3+ years' leadership experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and internet communications. SAP/Oracle/WMS system

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$47,600-$79,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
