ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Communications Specialist

Are you passionate about strategizing and developing engaging communications that strengthen a company's culture? Interested in joining a team focused on enhancing awareness, transparency, and elevating the employee experience? We'd love to hear from you! VHB is looking for an enthusiastic communication professional with excellent writing and editing skills to join our People + Culture Communications Team. You'll work as part of a collaborative group to keep our employees informed and inspired while promoting a connected culture to strengthen VHB's brand internally and externally.

This position can be located in any of our Mid-Atlantic, New England or Southeast offices.

Responsibilities

    Collaborate and support our multidisciplinary team to develop and deliver our strategic, integrated communications strategy to promote our People + Culture team's initiatives, like wellness and benefits, recruiting, and learning & development, as well as our corporate initiatives, such as DEIB, sustainability, ERGs, and more
  • Write, edit, and review internal and external communications, including content for all channels such as the company intranet, companywide emails and newsletters, vhb.com, social media, and more
  • Help manage the communications calendar and curate content for People + Culture Team content in alignment with our strategy, especially social media posts
  • Partner with our creative graphic design team to develop content
  • Project manage small projects to support ongoing and new initiatives
  • Actively engage in the development and refinement of communication strategies, initiatives, and channels that foster a culture of openness and engagement
  • Conduct research to support projects and stay on top of internal communications trends
  • Promote brand, voice, and best practices across VHB

  • Organized with project management skills
  • Creative thinking, curiosity, and an enthusiasm for continuous learning and growth
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in communications with a successful track record delivering creative HR, corporate, external, or marketing communications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, ChatGPT and other AI tools, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Well-versed in social media platforms and best practices
  • AEC industry experience preferred
  • Candidates will be required to provide writing samples if selected
