Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position
The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) is a unit providing academic support services to help students excel academically and cultivate life skills critical to timely graduation and global citizenship.

To accomplish its mission, CAE offers a wide-range of services and programs that promote student success, such as centralized academic advising, supplemental instruction, peer mentoring, tutoring, student-athlete academic enhancement, etc.

The unit collaborates with various academic units to reinforce academic expectatins and address factors that affect student succss and graduation.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Academic Advising is an educational process that facilitates students' understanding of the meaning and purpose of higher education. It fosters and encourages intellectual and personal development, academic success, and promotes lifelong learning.

Academic Advising provides an opportunity to build relationships for the purpose of gaining assistance in planning your educational career, while maximizing the benefits of education.

Through this collaborative educational process, you and your advisor partner in planning academic, personal, and career goals.
