Overview

The Executive Director - Chief Culture, Equity and Belonging Officer leads Cone Health's efforts in fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. This position is crucial in championing diversity, equity, cultivating a strong sense of belonging, driving cultural transformation, and expanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) business practices. The Executive Director - Chief Culture, Equity and Belonging Officer reports directly to the Chief People + Culture Officer and collaborates with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Center for Health Equity leadership.

Responsibilities

Cultivate an Inclusive Culture
Collaborates with service-line, campus and system-wide leaders and cross-functional teams to design and deliver strategic initiatives to meet our diversity and equity goals.
Operationalizes a welcoming and performance-driven culture across the organization and provides linkage across the patient experience, employee journey, supplier diversity and community relations.
Implements and oversees Cultural Competency Curriculum Development and Training to enhance cultural awareness, sensitivity and competence among employees, leaders, physicians and other stakeholders.

Lead a World-class Equity and Belonging Strategy
Stays informed of and responds to political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, environmental and legal factors that impact all areas of culture, equity, belonging and social responsibility.
Uses data-driven decision-making to define ongoing needs and expands available research and data sources to implement a sustainable process to analyze, measure and track the effectiveness of cultural transformation.
Conducts assessments to identify areas of improvement and creates action plans to address disparities and promote equity.

Leadership and Collaboration
Acts as a thought leader and advisor to executives, providers, inclusion network groups (ING) and external organizations to promote inclusivity and integrate system initiatives into our Healthy Communities and Health Equity strategies.
Leads the design and enhancement of curriculum for all related culture, equity and inclusion education and development offerings.
Manages all associated contracts and logistics with external partners to execute, track and report on initiatives with an eye toward continuous improvement.
Partners with Center for Health Equity and Quality and Safety leaders to develop a robust and equitable patient safety strategy.
Serves as a subject matter expert, spokesperson and advocates for Cone Health?s cultural transformation, equity, belonging and social responsibility efforts in the media, at conferences and events and when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 7-10 years of experience with progressive leadership in cultural transformation, diversity, equity and ESG business practices
