Position Summary | The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments. Every attempt is made to assign Graduate Assistants to positions that are directly related to the student's field of study or that provide the opportunity to develop transferable, professional skills. Graduate Assistantships are assigned in the department or unit and confirmed by the Graduate School. |

JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Coordinator of First Year Experience, this position works primarily with the Peer Academic Leader (PAL) program, FYE 101: Succeed at the G (new student transition seminar course) program, and Alpha Lambda Delta. FYE 101: Succeed at the G program is designed to help new students transition successfully to academic and student life at UNC Greensboro, as part of the Minerva's Academic Curriculum (MAC). In support of FYE 101, this position will focus on developing a large team of student leaders (PALs) to provide peer mentorship to new students, in addition to engaging in program and curriculum development, teaching, marketing, and assessment. This position will also serve as a co-advisor for the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society for First Year Success. Additionally, this position supports the First Year Experience team through other initiatives related to orientation, transition, and retention.
