If you are a Surveying professional aiming to grow your career within Geomatics & Surveying, then our Survey Party Chief opportunity will provide you with a fulfilling opportunity to be part of team continuing to provide exceptional service to our DOT clients. As our new Survey Party Chief, you will train and instruct field crew on proper use and care of equipment, ensure the successful and accurate completion of the field portion of the project, while upholding a high level of integrity.

This position is based out of NV5's Charlotte, NC office.

Responsibilities

Other Responsibilities include:

    Determine precise location and measurements of paint, elevations, lines, areas and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, or other purposes by performing the required duties.
  • Research survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
  • Develop new data from photogrammetric records.
  • Determine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control.
  • Maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performance.
  • Responsible for job specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual.
  • Operate and/or oversee the use of survey equipment and data collection.
  • Ensure field notes are copied and data downloaded.
  • Maintain the level of safety in the field as required by the project. This includes safe driving habits, safe and proper use of equipment, site safety as required, and the use of proper Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Maintain NV5 company truck and equipment.
Qualifications

If you possess the following experience & qualifications, then we would love to learn more about you!

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 4+ years of land surveying experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years party chief experience.
  • Data collection experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment.
