Summary:
The Rehabilitation Services Department at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, is accepting applications for an Administrative Specialist position. Candidates must have excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Performs duties of an Administrative Associate but with some authority to step outside confines of established procedures. They are also considered the subject matter authority in the administrative area for the department/clinic.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists with supply and inventory management, monitoring expenditures, and reconciling financial statements.
2. Coordinates and completes special projects independently or in cooperation with other groups as assigned.
3. Determines administrative needs and coordinates arrangements for conferences, meetings, seminars, or other related activities.
4. Extracts and compiles data from written sources, individuals, and databases and provides interpretation.
5. Manages departmental information systems.
6. Prepares complex databases, reports, charts, graphs, and spreadsheets at designated intervals as requested.
7. Composes formal internal and external correspondence.
8. Assists with customer service recovery for issues related to patient care and administrative issues.
9. Assists with sourcing candidates and serves as an interviewer, as needed.

* High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience
* If Bachelor's degree, no years of clerical or administrative experience
* If Associate's degree, one (1) year of clerical or administrative experience
