Description

Plans, implements and manages the systems infrastructure, which includes various server operating systems such as Windows Server and UNIX; Maintains the integrity and security of servers, applications and system infrastructure components; Responsible for all activities associated with application upgrades and backup/restore on corporate servers and coordinates all activities related to this function with end user departments, IS Staff and outside vendors. Create an environment where application and data is delivered in an efficient manner.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

A. Education: Minimum of two years' associates degree in a technology related field.
B. Experience: Minimum of two years' experience with day to day management and troubleshooting of systems infrastructure including; server operating systems, storage area networks, Ethernet networks, server hardware technology, database architecture, application delivery components, scripting, and virtualization.
C. Certification: Preferred certifications preferred include those related to Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, EMC, Cisco, NetApp, and others as deemed appropriate information technology leadership.
D. Skills: Extensive knowledge of PC/Server hardware, operating systems and software, networking, operating system and application security, backup and restore procedures and application delivery. Must be able to effectively communicate with end users, management, technical staff and vendors at the required level of proficiency and detail. Must be adept at independent problem solving, analytical assessment of information systems and logical thinking.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Systems Administrator may be continuously mobile throughout the day with occasional periods of prolonged standing, bending and lifting. He/She must be able to lift items that weigh up to 75 pounds, work in and under areas that may not allow much movement and require a good sense of agility.
