BBH is seeking an Associate for the Corporate Advisory Group (CAG) which advises owner-managers and family-owned businesses on mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and other strategic corporate decisions. The CAG Associate is a corporate finance professional that assists the team in performing company/industry research and valuation analyses to develop or enhance relationships with private business owner clients and prospects of BBH's Private Banking line of business. The job scope is like a traditional investment banking analyst role.

The role requires familiarity with corporate finance and business strategy consulting-oriented work, with an emphasis on understanding mergers and acquisitions, valuation, capital structure, and related aspects of finance/corporate strategy. The ideal candidate should have superior analytical skills and be able to express their thoughts clearly. The CAG Associate will report to a CAG officer but will assume a hands-on role in a team environment and interact with various other groups within Private Banking and the firm more broadly (e.g., Private Wealth Management, Investment Management, Lending, Private Equity), as well as with external parties such as senior business executives and intermediaries.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct company and industry research
  • Build financial models and perform valuation analyses (including company operating models, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout analysis)
  • Develop client presentations assessing the client's business, growth prospects, industry insights, valuation perspectives, and strategic alternatives
  • Interface with business owners, company executives and intermediaries
  • Support business development activities by tracking relationships with intermediaries and preparing weekly reports on the team's engagements and upcoming meetings

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate financial literacy with 2 - 4 years of experience in financial services or a related field
  • Strong interest in businesses, financial markets, and corporate strategy
  • Exceptional analytical abilities as well as outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented, with strong time management skills and willingness to assume a high level of responsibility
  • Ambitious self-starter with the ability to learn independently and multitask across various projects
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Shortlisted candidates will be expected to provide a writing sample
