Description
Perform lab draws, EKGs. Take vital signs, place patients on monitors. Transport patients throughout the hospital.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources.
Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives.
Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
Interviews patients and/or caregivers to collect information regarding current home medications
Utilizes appropriate equipment/accessories to collect information from outside sources (physician offices, retail pharmacies, family members) regarding home medications.
Contacts and communicates with other care providers (pharmacists, nurses, physicians, etc.) to facilitate the processing of home medication information.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited paramedic education program.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of field experience preferred.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) strongly preferred
Required Licenses
Paramedic
Must possess current State of North Carolina Paramedic License.

Work Schedule Variable shift, 10+ hr/shift, rotate weekends
