The Department of Athletics is a vital part of student life and the educational process at Elizabeth City State University. It provides a well-rounded schedule of college athletic competition designed to encourage participation by the student body. The department encourages physical fitness and the development of physical skills and emotional control.

This is a general continuous posting for a temporary Head Cheer Coach. The Head Cheer Coach is responsible for planning and directing the recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management for the Cheer program. The Head Coach is also responsible for ensuring that individuals and groups representing the University's athletic program comply with all institutional, CIAA, NCAA, and Title IX regulations.

Successful coaching experience at the college level and/or a combination of education and experience. Demonstrate a commitment of academic excellence and graduation of student-athletes and the collegial integration of athletics into the University's academic community. Understanding of all Cheer Collegiate guidelines, safety and risk management. Dance and gymnastics experience is a plus and at least one year of experience coaching school/competitive cheerleading, preferably at the collegiate level.
