Quality Assurance Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY

Michelin has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will be responsible for leading and handling optimization of their designated manufacturing process within our facility. This opportunity is in Norwood, NC, nestled by Lake Tillery in the North Carolina Piedmont region between the Carolina coast and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Norwood is conveniently located within an hour of major cities like Charlotte, Concord, and more! We are proud of our history of building aircraft tires from start to finish - serving the U.S. Military, general aviation, and commercial airline customers in the U.S. and globally.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  • Ensure product and process quality by monitoring performance, executing diagnostic tests, establishing standards, and confirming adherence to the standards.
  • Apply hands on technical troubleshooting skills to existing processes with quality problems.
  • Lead the application of root cause analysis in problem solving/deviation from standards.
  • Follow up on process capability take part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.
  • Mentor production operators and other team members to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation
  • Ensure that delivered products are compliant with quality planning models and are manufactured in compliance with obtention standards.
  • Meet the quality and productivity performance goals defined by the shop using "Right the first time" principles.
  • Mentor Production Operators (including the quality correspondents) to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation.
  • Follow up on process performance in terms of capability and productivity taking part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.
  • Participate in quality planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
  • Develop guidelines and standards for operators.
  • Identify critical connections and patterns in information / data.
  • Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information
  • Recognize causes and consequences of actions and events that are not likely apparent.
  • Persuade by appealing to reason using data, facts and examples.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

  • Bachelors Degree preferred in a technical field.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, project, or related technical experience is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, to include O365, Excel, and PowerBI apps with demonstrated ability to learn other systems
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with suppliers, customers, and Manufacturing Professionals.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and data accuracy in previous work.
  • Success in working with other people or team to meet a common objective.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to analyze, find the root cause, and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce the risk of the problem happening again.
