Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in Warren, MI, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
    Performs work to ASTM and/or customer specific standards within the Materials Lab, conducting testing relative to Environmental Exposure (xenon weathering), Cyclic Corrosion, and VOC
  • Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
  • Can work independent, requiring minimal supervision and technical input from the Department Manager
  • Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
  • Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specificatio
Skills / Qualifications
  • Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification, Associates or Bachelor degree level and/or 3-6 years of significant experience in a testing related field through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
  • In-depth understanding of testing concepts
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety
  • Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
  • Possess strong computer skills
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
