Dematic is hiring a talented Program Manager to lead our AGV Sustaining Engineering team. This position will be part of the Mobile Automation Execution team, that is based in Holland, MI. Dematic Mobile Automation has a focus on Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. AGVs are fully autonomous robots that move and transport items in production, warehouse, and distribution centers without manual intervention or permanent conveying systems. In this role, you will lead and provide strategic guidanceto a team of Engineers, that continuously improves and modernizes our portfolio of AGV products.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will do in This Role

  • Successfully defines workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
  • Manage, hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback and career development guidance to your team of engineers.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes in methods or procedures in own area of responsibility.
  • Identifies resource needs and develop justification.
  • Formulate, organize, and monitorinter-connected projects and coordinate cross-project activities
  • Develop and controldeadlines, budgets, and activities
  • Designs and develops strategic project/program objectives and opportunities.
  • Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives
  • Develop program assessment metrics for evaluation and improvement
  • Parts Obsolescence
  • Support Manufacturing teams with first time builds and design revisions
  • Complete recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
  • Guide individual career development and performance evaluations
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company value

What We Are Looking For:

  • 8+ years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Preferred Bachelors or Advanced Degree required. Emphasis in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position and prior Material Handling experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and working knowledge of program/project management software, MS Project or similar.
  • Knowledge and/or design experience in Industrial or Automation equipment
  • Experience with electrical / mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge and ability to identify and develop the proper team skills required for the successful implementation of the various products employed in complex systems inclusive of mechanical, controls, software, and installation teams.
  • Experience with and execution of general processes associated with change control, approvals, and information exchange involving several internal stake holders
  • Strong team development and management skills to enable the creation of a highly capable and sustainable organization.
  • Demonstrates full understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
  • Leadership experience displaying ability to organize and prioritize complex problem resolution and bug fixes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel as business needs require, typically 10%
