Inventory Control Cycle Count Coordinator

Location: Southern Pines-NC (Fully site based)

2nd shift position/Monday-Thursday

10 Hour shift/3:00 pm - 1:30 am

Shift differential- $1.00

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to ensure the accuracy of warehouse and plant inventory balances. This position is responsible for maintain the cycle count program and process, root cause analysis, accuracy reporting, and corrective actions. The successful implementation and maintenance of these processes should yield increased inventory accuracy, reduced component shortages, reduced cost of indirect labor for material handling and improved productivity of the manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

  • Management and maintenance of the cycle count process per standard work, including, but not limited to selection of parts to be counted, cycle count method and technique, reconciliation of counts to perpetual records, root cause analysis for errors, process change requests to reach 95%+ Perfect Location Accuracy.
  • Responding to on-demand cycle count requests generated from plant operations.
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams as they relate to improving inventory flow and accuracy (Lean Manufacturing).
  • Continually strive to improve Materials Management processes in pursuit of excellence (Cycle Counting, Kanban, and Audits).
  • Solve process issues in a timely manner by interacting with appropriate departments.
  • Use MRP system and related tools to develop reports that can be used by Materials Management personnel to monitor, control, and reduce inventory.
  • Update, revise, and enforce standard work instructions and operation manuals for the department, as well as ISO work instructions and operations manuals where appropriate.
  • Monitor scanning transactions, report errors, and take corrective action.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education Standard: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Min. Yrs. Experience:1-3 in a manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of plant receiving and materials movement processes
  • Basic Computer Skills (MS Office, Word, Excel) and ability to use plant IT programs.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated root cause analysis skills required.

Safety requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear OSHA approved safety glasses, safety shoes (steel toe) and hearing protection entering the manufacturing and warehouse area.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles.
  • Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e., forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 dba; hearing protection is required while on the plant floor.
  • The employee is on occasion, exposed to high, precarious places when using a ladder or operating the man-lifts.
