About the Department | The Office of Assessment and Accreditation ensures the quality of an NC State education for all undergraduate and graduate students. Our guidance of the assessment process creates accountability for the achievement of goals for all units at NC State, including learning outcomes for each academic program. Through our work, we're building a systematic culture of assessment that demonstrates our academic strength and progress to accrediting agencies. The accreditation and assessment process, along with NC State's continued academic growth, aligns with the university's strategic goals and vision of excellence. Mission The Office of Assessment and Accreditation supports the facilitation of campuswide assessment and accreditation processes. OAA leads the academic and administrative outcomes assessment processes, and works collaboratively with university stakeholders to coordinate comprehensive external program review. OAA is responsible for leading data collection and reporting for accreditation as well as facilitating the substantive change process for the institution.
OAA guides these efforts in congruence with NC State's expectations for continuous improvement and excellence as well as with standards for compliance with specialized accreditors and our institutional accrediting body, SACSCOC. Vision

Essential Job Duties | The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a university-wide, five-year student learning and student success initiative that reflects and affirms NC State's commitment to enhancing overall institutional quality. Campus-wide collaborators developed our QEP (2024-29) "Packways: Learning By Doing." Packways provides a coordinated means of informing and involving more students in success opportunities we call high impact experiences (HIEs - e.g. student employment, internships and entrepreneurship, service learning, undergraduate research, global engagement). Participation in HIEs has a proven impact on students' critical thinking, career readiness, rate of engagement and self-actualization. Packways also brings together a community of practice that focuses on HIEs that prepare NC State students to serve North Carolina, the nation and the world. The QEP Director at NC State will collaboratively direct all aspects of the QEP, including communication, implementation, monitoring, assessing and reporting. The Director position will work closely with various campus constituents including the Associate Dean and Executive Director, Academic Enrichment Programs, University College, Division of Academic and Student Affairs, and report to the Vice Provost for Assessment and Accreditation.
